For state and local government
Municipal asset tags for cities, counties, and state agencies.
Tag equipment in every department once, then scan it at the annual count. We print your seal, give DPW, Parks, and the Clerk’s office their own header colors, and continue the numbers in your fixed-asset list.
City and county seals · Department color headers · 4-part tabs for the asset file · Outdoor materials for fleet · Records box labels

“I rarely write testimonials, but these guys deserve it. I couldn’t be happier with the product or the service. They helped me organize our data and delivered exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much!”

Tag constructions for city and county property
These are tags we printed for other customers. Yours carries your seal, department names, and numbers.
Silver polyester
A stripe for each department
Silver polyester with a colored stripe. On a stray monitor, the stripe shows whose it is.
4-part
Tabs for the paperwork
The tag goes on the asset. Three matching tabs carry its number into the paperwork, from the asset file to the disposal form at surplus.
QR
Count with a phone
A QR code beside the asset number, for departments that count with phones instead of handheld scanners.
What goes on the tag
| Field | Why it is there |
|---|---|
| “Property of” your city, county, or agency | Marks it as public property, at the count and at surplus |
| Seal or logo | Recognized on sight, from the DPW yard to council chambers |
| Department header color | Shows which department owns it |
| Asset number | The same number as its line in the asset register |
| Barcode or QR code | A scan at the count, with no serial numbers to copy |
| Department or fund prefix | Keeps enterprise-fund and grant-funded equipment in its own series |
| Matching tab number | Asset file, transfer form, disposal form |
A prefix can carry the department, the fund, or the year received. Then the number itself tells finance where an item belongs.
Fixed assets · finance and the annual count
Municipal asset tags that make the annual count a scan.
The fixed-asset count your auditors ask for goes faster when every item carries its number. Departments scan what is in their offices, shops, and yards, and finance matches the scans to the list.
The matching tab goes into the asset file, so the file and the item agree.
- “Property of” your city, county, or state agency, with your seal
- Numbers that continue your fixed-asset list, with a department or fund prefix
- A separate series for small-and-attractive items you track but don’t capitalize
- Tamper-evident VOID tags that show if a tag is moved to a replacement item
IT, furniture & department equipment
A header color for every department, from IT to Parks.
A Parks laptop sitting in the Clerk’s office stands out at the count, and someone files the transfer form.
- Reverse-print color headers with the department name in white letters
- Your seal in the header, or beside the department name
- Sizes from 0.3″ × 1″ for phones up to 1″ × 2″ for copiers and furniture
DPW, fleet & grounds
Asset tags for mowers, generators, and everything in the DPW yard.
Fleet and grounds equipment spends its life outside. Outdoor tags are custom work. The construction depends on where the tag goes and what it has to survive.
- Outdoor and UV-resistant constructions for trailers and light towers
- Chemical-resistant options for equipment in the shop and the wash bay
- “DPW” or “Parks” in the header, so borrowed equipment finds its way back
- Street signs and signal cabinets are covered on our Utilities & Public Works page
Clerk’s office & records
Box labels that carry the destruction year from your retention schedule.
Label the boxes with their numbers and the year they can be destroyed, and the shelves with their locations. Your records system then shows which boxes are due and where they sit.
- Box numbers with a department prefix and the destruction year on the label
- Shelf location labels for the records room and off-site storage
- Barcode labels for permit, license, and contract files that leave the office
- If your document management software prints labels, we supply the printer, stock, and ribbon
How it works
Finance can send one list for every department, or departments can order on their own. Either way, the numbers continue where they left off.
1
Tell us what you're tagging
Departments, counts, the numbers you use now, and which tags go outdoors.
2
We set the construction
Size, header color by department, seal, barcode or QR, and a 4-part tag if the asset file needs tabs.
3
You approve a proof
Nothing prints until each department’s layout and numbering are right.
4
Delivered in number order
Tags arrive in sequence from your starting numbers, ready for crews to apply.
