What goes on the label
| Field | Why it is there |
|---|---|
| Location code | Matches the slot your WMS records the pallet in |
| Barcode sized for the distance | Big enough to scan from the forklift at the top beam |
| Retro-reflective face | For long-range scanners in high racks |
| Level indicator | Which beam, when every level of a bay looks alike |
| Lane number and flow arrow | Which drive-in or pallet flow lane, and which way it flows |
| Room or zone color | Freezer, cooler, and dock slots in different colors |
| Check digit | A spoken confirmation when gloves make scanning slow |
We keep your code format and size the barcodes to your rack heights and scanners.
Freezer & cooler racks
Freezer labels made to stay on the beam and scan from the seat.
A label that curls off a freezer beam turns that slot into a manual search. Our freezer-grade barcode labels use materials and adhesives designed for low-temperature rooms.
Retro-reflective labels and angled placards are made for long-range scanners. Drivers read high slots without climbing down in the cold.
- Laminated labels that resist moisture when doors open and close
- 45-degree angled placards for scanning high slots from below
- Color-coded labels for freezer, cooler, and ambient rooms
FIFO lanes, drive-in & pallet flow
Magnetic rack labels and lane labels for FIFO rotation.
In pallet flow and drive-in lanes, the lane is what your team scans. Lane labels go at the entrance and on each level, with arrows for the direction of flow.
- Drive-in and FIFO / live storage lane labels, with lane numbers in large type
- Vertical totems that show every level of a drive-in lane on one label
- Magnetic labels that move with the product when seasonal slots change
- Color bands by product group or temperature zone
Docks, staging & floors
Barcoded floor locations for loads staged at the dock.
Pallets waiting on the dock floor between the cold room and the truck need a location your system can scan. Our floor markers carry the barcode and lane code under a 3M slip-resistant over-laminate.
For floors inside a cold room, ask us first.
- Numbered dock door signs, so drivers and loaders agree on the door
- Staging lane markers with arrows to line pallets up in load order
- 32-mil clear PVC covers for the lanes pallet jacks cross all day
- 4″ × 6″ standard, or sized to your lane width
Lot & location records
Location labels and label supplies for your traceability records.
Your WMS and your food safety program keep the records. We print the location labels those records point to.
- The same location codes your WMS records
- GS1-128, Code 128, QR, or Data Matrix, whichever your scanners read
- Barcode printers and software, with help choosing the equipment
- Die-cut stock and ribbon for system-printed case and pallet labels
How it works
The material depends on the rooms the labels go in and how they will go on.
1
Tell us about each room
Freezer, cooler, or dock, whether labels go on before cool-down or in a running freezer, any frost on the beams, and the scanners you use.
2
We pick material and adhesive
Freezer-grade where it’s cold, magnetic where slots change, retro-reflective where drivers scan from a distance, all laid out from your location list.
3
Test samples, approve a proof
Stick a few on your own beams first. Nothing prints until the layout and the numbering are right.
4
Delivered in install order
Sequenced room by room and aisle by aisle, ready to apply.

FAQs
Questions cold storage warehouse managers ask
Freezer-grade materials and adhesives are designed to remain adhered and scannable in low-temperature conditions. Which one we use depends on the room and on how the labels go on.
A running freezer and a room that is not yet cooled down can call for different adhesives. We ask which one you have before we quote.
Yes. They suit slots that change often, because the label moves instead of being replaced. Tell us which rooms they are for.
Retro-reflective placards can often be scanned from more than 35 feet, depending on the scanner and the barcode size. With your rack heights and scanner models, we size the barcode to match.
Traceability rules such as FSMA 204 are about the records you keep at each step. We print the location labels your system records against, and supply printers and stock for the lot labels it prints, in the format it reads.
Yes. Send the new room’s location list and a photo of a current label. We continue your codes in the same layout as the rooms you already have.
Yes. Food distributors and cold storage operators can pay by purchase order or card.
We quote them from your location count and the materials each room needs. For standard asset tags, the online designer starts at 250 tags from $122.50.
Try samples on those beams first. We’ll recommend a construction from what you find.
